Chris Downey is realtor who developed his entrepreneurial spirit from his parents who owned a brokerage and developed residential communities. As a child, he remembers watching the car while his parents would be in a meeting getting paperwork signed for their most recent endeavor. Chris worked closely with his father managing construction over the years, working to earn money to pay his way through college. Chris enjoyed working in the family businesses into his early 20s.
While his family focused on the development of large commercial projects, Chris entered a lengthy and rewarding management career in the death care industry. Chris served as a regional general manager throughout his career, which eventually brought him from New England down to Northern Virginia. He eventually moved into the software solution side of the industry, which focused on operations and compliance needs. Seeking a new challenge (and some extra income), Chris was drawn back into his earlier work with real estate and discovered that his casual work as a child had turned into a driving passion as an adult. He turned all of his attention back to this field and established his real estate business.
Chris’s earlier exposure to the construction and real estate business, combined with his education and management experience, provide him with a skill set that is unmatched in the residential sales arena here in NOVA. Chris leverages these skill sets daily to maximize results for his clients.
Chris regularly provides trainings for his brokerage on negotiations, planning, valuations and technology platforms and has spoken on panels with other top agents in his field. He was formerly an active member of the Keller Williams Realty Associate Leadership Counsel, for which he served as the chair of the profitability committee.
While he represents both sellers and buyers equally, he recently earned an award for having the highest closed buyer production in his office for 2017. Being a well-balanced agent has helped Chris produce compelling offers, negotiate outstanding prices & terms, and competently navigate real estate transactions from contract until the closing.
